Directions

Ljubljana is centrally located and reachable from the main borders with Austria, Italy and Croatia within an hour by motorway. From Hungary it’s approximately 2 hours by car on the motorway. When driving on Slovenia’s motorway you need a vignette which can be purchased at petrol stations in Slovenia and in neighbouring countries.

DIRECTIONS FROM ITALY (FERNETTI) AND SLOVENIA COASTLINE

On the motorway you drive in the directions of Postojna and Ljubljana. Arriving to Ljubljana you take exit 34 – Ljubljana – Centre and continue on Barjanska cesta until you find the parking P+R Barje. Contact us for more information how to reach Barbo Palace from there after you park the car.

DIRECTIONS FROM AUSTRIA (KARAWANKEN) AND GORENJSKA REGION

On the motorway you drive in the direction of Kranj and Ljubljana. Arriving to Ljubljana you take exit 6 – Ljubljana – North and continue on Celovška cesta (direction Center), to parking Tivoli I. Contact us for more information how to reach Barbo Palace from there after you park the car.

DIRECTIONS FROM AUSTRIA (SPIELFELD), HUNGARY AND PREKMURJE AND ŠTAJERSKA REGION

On the motorway you drive in the direction of Maribor, Celje and Ljubljana. Arriving to Ljubljana follow the signs for Ljubljana – Centre and take exit 34 – Ljubljana – Centre and continue on Barjanska cesta until you find the parking P+R Barje. DIRECTION FROM CROATIA (OBREŽJE) AND DOLENJSKA REGION

On the motorway you drive in the direction of Novo mesto and Ljubljana. Arriving to Ljubljana follow the signs for Ljubljana – Centre and take exit 34 – Ljubljana – Centre and continue on Barjanska cesta until you find the parking P+R Barje. PARKING AROUND BARBO PALACE

Unfortunately, Barbo Palace has no private parking for guests due to a central location in the city center. Therefore the apartments cannot be accessed by car or taxi. You will have to park the car in nearby parking places and walk the pedestrian zone or call Kavalir. Kavalir is a free shuttle service in the car-free zone with an electric car and they can take you directly to the Barbo Palace. They run every day from 8 AM to 8 PM and they can`t be ordered in advance. You can reach it on offical telephone numbers. +386 31 666 331 +386 31 666 332

There are a few options to park the car:

1. Open parking TIVOLI I. (address: Celovška cesta 3, 1000 Ljubljana), will cost you approx. 13 EUR/day and it is about 20 minutes walk from the Barbo Palace. We offer a complimentary taxi service on arrival and departure only from TIVOLI I. to Trg francoske revolucije. Call us when you arrive at the parking so we can arrange the transfer. Meeting point: Red info point structure. Signature for the complimentary taxi service to the driver is mandatory.

2. Parking house Kongresni trg (address: near Kongresni trg 1, Ljubljana), will cost you 1.50 EUR/h (for less than 3 hours), 2.40 EUR/h (for 3 or more hours) and 1.80 EUR/night (24:00 – 7:00). Garage is about 100m from the Barbo Palace.

3. P+R Barje (address: Barjanska cesta, 1000 Ljubljana), will cost you approx. 5 EUR/day + Urbana card (can be bought on the Urbanomat machine). We offer a complimentary taxi service on arrival and departure only from P+R Barje to Trg francoske revolucije. Call us when you arrive at the parking so we can arrange the transfer. Meeting point: bus stop P+R Barje. Signature for the complimentary taxi service to the driver is mandatory. Alterantive from P+R Barje: You can take bus no. 9 which stops next to the Congress square. 4. P+R Dolgi most (address: Tržaška cesta, 1000 Ljubljana), will cost you approx. 5 EUR/day + Urbana card (can be bought on the Urbanomat machine). From there you can take bus no. 6 which stops next to the Congress square. Please contact us for more information.

ARRIVING BY PLANE

Flying to Ljubljana you will land at Ljubljana airport Jože Pučnik or as the locals call it Brnik.

From Ljubljana airport you can take a shuttle to Ljubljana bus/train stations and follow the directions as if you would have arrived by bus or train.

From the airport you can also take a taxi which should drop you at Trg francoske revolucije (The Square of French Revolution) and you walk down the square towards the City Musem of Ljubljana (Mestni muzej) and turn to the left on Gosposka ulica and walk 200 metres and you will see Barbo Palace on your right side. The walk is 3 minutes.

You can also fly to the nearby airports of Trieste, Venice, Zagreb, Klagenfurt… From all the airports there are regular shuttle services (check the options online or ask us) to Ljubljana bus station.

ARRIVING BY TRAIN OR BUS

You will arrive at Ljubljana train station or bus station, which are next to each other.

From the train/bus station you can take a taxi to Kongresni trg (bus stop “Drama”), cross the street and walk down the Kongresni trg (Congress Square) to The Barbo Palace.
You can also take bus number 2, 9 or 27. You can pay with Mastercard or Visa on the bus. You can also purchase an Urbana card in case you plan to use buses more and switch buses. Bus fare is 1.30 EUR and is valid for 90 minutes.

You can also walk to The Barbo Palace from the bus/train station. It is about a 15 minutes walk. Go along Miklošičeva Street (ulica) all the way to Prešernov trg and Tromostovje. From there you walk along Wolfova steet to Kongresni trg and continue another 100 meters on Gosposka and you will find The Barbo Palace on your left side.
