The Barbo Palace Apartments are located on Gosposka ulica 3 (GPS: 46°02'56.4"N 14°30'16.3"E), opposite the building of the University of Ljubljana, in a pedestrian zone so they cannot be accessed by car or taxi.
You will have to walk to the Barbo Palace or call Kavalir. Kavalir is a free shuttle service in the car free zone, with an electric car, and they can take you directly to the Barbo Palace. They run every day from 8 am to 8 pm, and they can not be ordered in advance. You can reach them on their offical telephone numbers: +386 31 666 331 and +386 31 666 332.
ARRIVING BY CAR
Ljubljana is centrally located and reachable from the main borders with Austria, Italy and Croatia within an hour by motorway. From Hungary it's approximately 2 hours by car on the motorway. When driving on Slovenia’s motorway you need a vignette which can be purchased at petrol stations in Slovenia and in neighbouring countries.
DIRECTIONS FROM ITALY (FERNETTI) AND SLOVENIA COASTLINE
On the motorway you drive in the directions of Postojna and Ljubljana. Arriving to Ljubljana you take exit 34 – Ljubljana - Centre and continue on Barjanska cesta, Mirje and Emonska cesta to parking NUK II or on Barjanska and Slovenska cesta to the parking garage Kongresni trg.
DIRECTIONS FROM AUSTRIA (KARAWANKEN) AND GORENJSKA REGION
On the motorway you drive in the direction of Kranj and Ljubljana. Arriving to Ljubljana you take exit 34 – Ljubljana - Centre and continue on Barjanska cesta, Mirje and Emonska cesta to parking NUK II or on Barjanska and Slovenska cesta to the parking garage Kongresni trg.
DIRECTIONS FROM AUSTRIA (SPIELFELD), HUNGARY AND PREKMURJE AND ŠTAJERSKA REGION
On the motorway you drive in the direction of Maribor, Celje and Ljubljana. Arriving to Ljubljana follow the signs for Ljubljana – Centre and take exit 34 and continue on Barjanska cesta, Mirje and Emonska cesta to parking NUK II or on Barjanska and Slovenska cesta to the parking garage Kongresni trg.
DIRECTION FROM CROATIA (OBREŽJE) AND DOLENJSKA REGION
On the motorway you drive in the direction of Novo mesto and Ljubljana. Arriving to Ljubljana follow the signs for Ljubljana – Centre and take exit 34 and continue on Barjanska cesta to parking NUK II or on Barjanska and Slovenska cesta to the parking garage Kongresni trg.
PARKING NEAR BARBO PALACE
The Barbo Palace apartments unfortunately has no private parking for guests but you have 2 public parking places near by:
Open parking NUK (address: Trg Francoske revolucije 3, Ljubljana; GPS: 46°02’48″N 14°30’08″E), will cost you approx.: 16 EUR/ day and it is about 400m from the Barbo Palace.
Parking house Kongresni trg (address: near Kongresni trg 1, 1000 Ljubljana, GPS:
46°03’02’’N 14°30’10’’E), will cost you approx. 39 EUR/day and it is about 100m from the Barbo Palace.
There are also public parking spaces available on streets of Ljubljana divided into 3 zones. Zone 1 is the closest to centre and allows maximum 2 hours parking, therefore we suggest zone 3 which allows maximum 6 hours parking between 7 am and 7 pm during working days (Monday to Friday, it’s free on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, after 7 pm on working days). Parking in zone 3 is 0,40 EUR/hour and you can pay with coins.

If you are driving to Ljubljana on motorbike you can park directly in front of The Barbo Palace.
ARRIVING BY PLANE
Flying to Ljubljana you will land at Ljubljana airport Jože Pučnik or as the locals call it Brnik.
From Ljubljana airport you can take a shuttle to Ljubljana bus/train stations and follow the directions as if you would have arrived by bus or train.
From the airport you can also take a taxi which should drop you to Kongesni trg (Congress Square) and you walk down the Kongresni trg turn right at the end and another 50 meters The Barbo Palace is on your left.
You can also fly to the nearby airports of Trieste, Venice, Zagreb, Klagenfurt… From all the airports there are regular shuttle services to Ljubljana bus station.
ARRIVING BY TRAIN OR BUS
You will arrive at Ljubljana train station or bus station, which are next to each other. From the train/bus station you can take a taxi to Kongesni trg (bus stop “Drama”), cross the street and walk down the Kongresni trg (Congress Square) to The Barbo Palace.
You can also take bus number 2, 9 or 27. You need to have Urbana card for riding a bus. You can buy the Urbana card at any newsstand. Bus fare is 1,20 EUR and is valid for 90 minutes.
You can also walk to The Barbo Palace from the bus/train station. It is about a 15 minutes walk. Go along Miklošičeva Street (ulica) all the way to Prešernov trg and Tromostovje. From there you walk along Wolfova steet to Kongresni trg and continue another 100 meters on Gosposka and you will find The Barbo Palace on your left side.
